Mini plum pomadarinos or cherry pomadarinos for the bill. I’m the same as you with tomatoes and only buy these. But if I can’t get them then the sugar trick works a treat.

Anyone else enjoy fried tomatoes on toast?

This is an issue that is easily solved by adding a few granules of sugar to the tomatoes. How do you think the baked beans manage it?

Baked beans at home are usually sold as Pork and Beans (pork and beans!)* but the joke always was how little pork you could get in the can and still call it pork and beans.

So it was usually one knob of bacon fat in the can. Not great eating cold.

They might have to label it slightly different now.

Maple cured bacon is actually a pretty wonderful thing.

And you could do yourself

With pork belly, maple syrup, Prague powder #1, brown sugar, a ziplock bag, room in the fridge, a barbeque and a meat slicer if you want it thin.

Bird on the tube last night defo had covid. Non stop coughing, and no fucking mask. One bloke told her she should get off the train, everyone else buried their heads in their phones.

I've never seen tinned bacon.

Re: Did anyone catch Covid from going to the game last Monday?
I have neither beans or Tomatoes. If you like your salty bacon with a bit of sweetness the industrialised gunk that comes out of a tin is a very poor solution, even those culinary philistines the Americans have a better answer as they use maple syrup for that.

Anyway, Manuel restarted this argument. I lost interest a while ago.

I have never managed to find a tomato for sale in the UK that is anything near as sweet as those grown in hot countries. And I have tried. Neither, I suspect, have you. Tomatoes are quite simply NOT sweet enough to balance the salt of bacon, sausages, etc.

Also, baked beans may contain a lot of salt, but the overriding flavour is sweet. So I have no idea why you made that comment.

You appear to be arguing for the sake of it.

If you prefer insipid inclusions in your meal, just say it. No-one is going to cart you off to prison.

You should always empty the tin first.

Probably, Nurse. Call them heritage tomatoes and you'll have 'em hooked.

Re: Did anyone catch Covid from going to the game last Monday?
I would say a pseudo nuanced view, as Heinz Baked Beans are well known to be high in salt. And sweet tomatoes have been in abundance in most supermarkets for years. A quick Google will show you that. Even sweet varieties that have been grown in southern climbs.

My much more nuanced view is that anything beginning with T (Toast comes under bread) doesn't belong on a breakfast plate. Whether that be Tomatoes or Tins of baked beans.

Why not?

Fuck, no. Can't stand all that separate-small-pot wankery you get in cafes and restaurants now. Besides, at home it's ME doing the washing up.
